MARYLAND CELEBRATION EVENT SPONSORS
The Maryland Celebration is comprised of Maryland’s Official Delegates to the Convention, their guests, Sponsors, Elected Officials, and Guests, Maryland Democratic Activists, and everyone who registers to participate in Convention activities with the Maryland Democratic Party. It will number between 300 and 400 people.

The Daily Delegation breakfast meeting is held every morning of the Convention from 7:30 am until 9:00 am at the Official Maryland Delegation Hotel in Sheraton Ballrooms I, II, and III. The ballroom, which accommodates 400, is built out with staging, two large screens, and an AV package that is available to the Sponsor. The Sponsor also has access to the ballroom the night before the breakfast to distribute materials at each place setting. A significant portion of the entire Maryland Celebration attends this buffet breakfast. The opening 30 minutes of the breakfast meeting is dedicated to conducting official Maryland Delegation business. At the conclusion of the meeting, the Sponsor can use the remainder of the time, approximately 8:00 am-9:00 am for a speaking program, to honor special guests, or for a presentation. This event is ideal for Sponsors who want to host speakers or present to an attentive audience.
Tips for success: The more engaging the program and the more interesting the speaker, the more likely, and the longer, the seats will stay full. The MDP’s Convention Planning Team will work with you to make sure your event is well-planned and logistically seamless.
Odyssey Chicago Architectural Boat Cruise Reception on the Chicago River | $35,000

Perhaps the most unique event of the Maryland Celebration week is the Odyssey Chicago Architectural Boat Cruise Reception on the Chicago River. Members of the Maryland Celebration can choose to board at 11:00 am or 2:00 pm for a 1 ½ hour tour on the Odyssey, a modern vessel that accommodates up to 200 people. Guests will be treated to captivating panoramas of Chicago’s iconic architecture and a reception of light fare and beer, wine, and soft drinks. Breathtaking views of landmarks such as the Willis Tower, Navy Pier, and the Old Chicago Post Office can be enjoyed from the comfortable interior or the open-air spaces on the Odyssey. This upscale experience on the Chicago River is complete with light architectural narration and top-notch service. Set sail for an awe-inspiring experience! The tour will board and disembark on the Riverwalk near the official Maryland Delegation Hotel.
Tip for success: This event is perfect for a Sponsor who wants to offer an experience that breaks from the routine. The Sponsor will be featured on both cruises and will have an opportunity to address members of the Maryland Celebration between narrated architectural highlights. Because this is not a strictly seated event, parting materials and giveaways should be provided at debarkation. The MDP’s Convention Planning Team will work with you to make sure your Cruise is truly special.

The Opening Reception is the first official event of the Maryland Celebration. Tips for success: All of our venues are uniquely furnished and decorated; however, Sponsors are invited to provide giveaways and table decor. Evening events are ideal for Sponsors who enjoy a less formal setting and want to meet members of the Maryland Celebration one-on-one by mingling with the crowd. Staging a speaking program isn’t always ideal at evening events because it’s difficult to keep the fired-up post-convention crowds quiet. The MDP’s Convention Planning Team will work with you to make sure your event is memorable.

State (Electoral)
Candidate accounts and State PACs can transfer $6000 per election cycle to another Maryland Campaign account. Individuals, corporations, associations, and partnerships can contribute no more than $6,000 to one Maryland non-federal campaign account during the four-year cycle. The current cycle began on January 1, 2023 and will end December 31, 2026. Corporate contributions are allowed by state law.
Federal Contribution
Federal Election law requires us to report the name, mailing address, occupation, and name of employer for each individual whose contributions exceed $200 in a calendar year. Corporate contributions and contributions from foreign nationals are prohibited by law. Your federally permissible contribution will be used in connection with Federal elections and is subject to the limits and prohibitions of the Federal Election Campaign Act.
